Murdoch

Murdoch is a relatively new suburb south of Perth near Kardinya and Bullcreek. The suburb is named after Sir Walter Murdoch. Sir Walter was a Professor of English/Chancellor at U.W.A. between 1912 and 1947. Murdoch University was the first development in this area and opened in the 1970's. Two major hospitals now exist here. St John of God Murdoch, and the Fiona Stanley Hospital which is nearing completion. The southern rail link opened in Dec 2007
