Trigg A beachside suburb on West Coast Drive, north of Scarborough and south from North Beach. Known for its popular beach and also interesting rock formations along the coast. Named after Trigg Island, a rocky outcrop just off the beach which was named after Henry Trigg, Superintendent of Public Works in the mid 1800's. Years ago, Trigg Island was often cut off from the beach in the winter at high tide thus becoming an island. This event rarely occurs now |

Trigg - Trigg Island Trigg Island viewed from slightly to the north. Is it an island or is it not? It is a large rocky outcrop and connected to the mainland only by surface sand.
