Benger The locality of Benger is approximately half way between Wokalup in the north and Brunswick Junction to the south. The townsite straddles the South-Western Highway and the Picton - Pinjarra rail line runs through the town, parallel to the highway. This is rich dairying country and some farms enjoy the benefits of irrigation channels which exist in the area between Harvey and Brunswick. The origin of the town name is not known |

Benger - Primary School A little to the north of the townsite and off on a small road over the railway line east in the old Benger primary school. It all looks in great condition. The school ran as such from 1928 to 1996. Numbers must have dropped and these days any local primary aged children would bus to Harvey or Brunswick. This is now used by the Benger Community Centre and was opened by Mr Bill Fry on November 28th, 1998. April 2013. Photos Ref: BENG001 |

Benger - Back Road A roadway leads off the main highway and heads west, just a little south of town. It's rich dairy country around here and a pleasure to drive around. I wonder how many people actually leave the highway and explore places such as this? April 2013. Photos Ref: BENG002 |

Benger - Garage On the west side of the South West Highway is the garage. I've been up and down this road for 50 years and this place is still going. The business mix must have changed over the years but the guys in here persevere and get on with the job. Good on them. April 2013. Photos Ref: BENG003 |

Benger - Rail Shed The Benger station building such as it is these days complete with some additional script. The highway is in the background. Once upon a time the passenger train, the Bunbury Shopper (or Bunbury Belle), used to stop here. April 2013. Photos Ref: BENG004 |

Benger - Railway Line Quite a lot of rail freight traffic passes through Benger and a rail loop exists alongside the mail line. This is looking north where the loop line re-joins the main line and then disappears over the horizon on its way north to Harvey. April 2013. Photos Ref: BENG005 |
