Mumberkine A tiny locality half way between Toodyay and Goomalling on the Tyndall Road junction. What was once a settlement here has given way almost exclusively to farming properties. The locality of Jennacubbine is just to the south. In early motoring days the local garage would have been an important fuelling/stopping point for travellers but as with many small country towns, reliable transport and cheaper fuel depots in nearby towns has made this redundant |

Mumberkine - Hall On the Goomalling - Toodyay road at the start of Tyndall Road, the former Mumberkine Hall is crumbling. The Foundation Stone says the building was opened on 17th November 1897 by B. O. Clarkson Esq. J.P., President (probably of the Goomalling Road Board). It was then a multi-purpose hall. In 1961 the Anglican Church took over the building and it became known as St Luke's church. It is now abandoned. April 2012. Photos Ref: MBKN001 |

Mumberkine - Hall This is inside the main hall. It's sad to see the broken windows and floor boards starting to lift. At the rear of the building is a small separate room complete with fireplace. Such a fine old building being neglected. April 2012. Photos Ref: MBKN002 |

Mumberkine - Old Garage Across the road from the hall is this old service station. Like so many others everywhere, they became uneconomical to run thus closed. I actually like these places staying as this is as they serve as memorials of how things were in the past. Who can remember drinking Frist? April 2012. Photos Ref: MBKN003 |

Mumberkine - Chimney Stack An artistic study of an old chimney stack and remains of what would be have been a farmhouse or farm workers quarters. July 2013. Photos Ref: MBKN004 |

Mumberkine - Old Shed A little away from the main Mumberkine area but still in the district I espied this old building which is in a state of somewhat disrepair. Mainly the iron roof though. Perhaps the stone walls have fared better. July 2013. Photos Ref: MBKN005 |

Mumberkine - New Buildings Just because I like old and tumbling-down buildings don't let me paint Mumberkine as being just that. Here is a sparkling, smart new house and water tanks that have been recently built in the area. July 2013. Photos Ref: MBKN006 |
