Piawaning This locality is a small grain storage and shipment settlement on the junction of the Bindi Bindi-Toodyay and Waddington-Wongan Hills Roads. It is around 160 kms north of Perth and a mere 28 kms from New Norcia. The town came about through the northern extension of the Toodyay - Bolgart railway. This occurred in 1919 and the town was gazetted in 1920. The town is named after nearby Piawaning Spring which has been included on maps since 1877 |

Piawaning - Piawaning Trading Agency The Piawaning Trading Agency from which you can purchase just about anything. This on Denton Street. The store was built in 1922 and the Boreham family then owned it. Between 1949 and 1955 Halligan's owned and ran the store. It seems that this has always been the local post office. October 2011.
