Pithara Pithara is a small town on the Great Northern Highway and is yet another locality which owes its existence to the construction of a railway line which passed through the area. Pithara rail siding was named in 1913 although this was soon changed to Hettie (and gazetted as such in 1914), perhaps to appease the landowner of that name whose property was resumed for the town land. Local objections resulted in the name reverting to Pithara in December 1914 |
