Salter Point Salter Point is located south of Manning and north of and adjacent to the Canning River. Mr Samuel Salter was a pioneer timber worker in this area back in the 1880's when it was inaccessible by road and mostly virgin bush. Mr Salter received cut logs floated downstream from Kelmscott to his landing here for processing. By 1955 the district was known as Manning. In 1990 the suburb of Salter Point was split off from Manning thus remembering the Salter name |
