Bindoon A small community at the heart of the Shire of Chittering, located on the Great Northern Highway, north of Midland and some 84 kms from Perth. The town is just north of Muchea where the Brand Highway branches off northwards. Bindoon was not gazetted until as late as 1953 yet the name has been used by locals for over 150 years! The name is of Aboriginal origin and was first used as his property name by Mr William Brockman, who was an early settler |

Bindoon - Holy Trinity Anglican Church This is the Holy Trinity Anglican Church of Bindoon, situated a few kilometres south of the townsite. In was built in 1886 by the people of the parish. Bindoon - St Anne's Catholic Church A little to the north of the townsite is St Anne's Catholic Church. This building was consecrated by the Archbishop of Perth in 2004. The original church was built on this site in 1909. It was destroyed by a tornado in 1943. August 2011. Photos Ref: BNDN015 |

Bindoon - Catholic College An imposing view of another building. It looks rather forbidding in some ways. And so it should do. The College was once known as Bindoon Boys Town, an orphanage run by the Christian Brothers, where reportedly some young boys suffered sexual abuse and physical hardship over many years, inflicted by some of the "carers" at the home throughout those decades.
