Myalup

A beachside town and resort around 30 kilometres north of Bunbury, just a few kilometres north of Binningup. Myalup is 150 kilometres south of Perth and only 3-4 kms off Forrest Highway. This locality is becoming increasingly popular as a holiday resort. Lt Bunbury explored this area in 1836 and called a nearby swamp Miellup. In 1849 a surveyor altered the spelling to Myerlup. The town was gazetted in 1972 due to demand for land in the area close to the sea
